The Yaskawa CIMR-AU4A0018FAA is an A1000 high-performance vector variable frequency drive for 380-480 VAC three-phase industrial power systems. It provides a Normal Duty rating of 10 HP at 17.5 A and a Heavy Duty rating of 7.5 to 10 HP at 14.8 A. The applicable duty rating must be selected according to the motor nameplate current, starting torque, acceleration profile, load inertia and operating cycle.

Compatible System and Applications
The CIMR-AU4A0018FAA can be operated without encoder feedback for conventional open-loop applications or combined with an appropriate feedback card for closed-loop speed and torque control. Encoder type, signal format, power supply and feedback option must be matched correctly. An encoder cannot be connected directly without confirming the required A1000 option interface.
Normal Duty is generally applicable to pumps, fans and moderate-overload systems. Heavy Duty should be evaluated for loaded conveyors, mixers, extruders and machinery with frequent torque changes. For continuous low-speed operation, confirm motor cooling because a standard self-cooled motor may not dissipate sufficient heat at reduced speed.

Before replacing the drive, verify the complete CIMR-AU4A0018FAA model, specification number, software revision and installed option cards. Back up the parameters and document the power wiring, control terminals, encoder wiring, communication network and braking resistor. Rating-dependent parameters such as motor current, electronic overload protection and tuning data must be reviewed after transfer.
If migrating to GA800, use the official A1000-to-GA800 transition process. Parameter conversion can reduce setup time, but terminal logic, feedback options, safety wiring, network communication, braking hardware and machine-specific functions must be verified separately.
